I've been on both sides of art commissions for years: waiting excitedly for art, and being the artist buried in revision requests. I love commissions, but I've always wished the process could feel a little lighter.

Scratch came from wanting a simpler way to request real art from real people. Send a prompt, give the artist creative freedom, and let the final piece be shaped by their interpretation. More trust, fewer revision loops, and more room for surprise.

Especially in a world increasingly filled with AI art, I wanted to make it easier and more accessible to create, request, and support human-made art across borders.

It definitely won't be for everyone, but I know a bunch of y'all feel the same way. I hope you'll join us for the ride.
